Takahashi Taichi (高橋泰智 born May 16, 2007), known professionally as TAICHI (タイチ), is a Japanese singer, dancer and trainee of Japanese management company BMSG. He is currently pursuing various activities to prepare him for his eventual debut.
Prior to joining BMSG, TAICHI trained under Sony Music Entertainment's TORA PROJECT, and he made Top 20 in the Nizi Project season 2 audition.
Biography[]
Early Life[]
TAICHI, age 4
TAICHI decided to become an artist when he got to perform in front of an audience for the first time at his dance school's recital, wanting to replicate the feeling he got on stage[1].
He used to attend vocal lessons at SS Vocal Academy[2].
2021-2023[]
Around November 2021, TAICHI started training under Sony Music Entertainment's TORA PROJECT[3].
In April 2022, he auditioned for JYP's Nizi Project 2 audition with "Come a long way" by FlowBack, and passed the Tokyo regional round. At the Tokyo training camp, he sang "Milk Tea" by Shimizu Shota[4], for which he was ranked #15[5] and danced to Stray Kids' "Back Door", for which he was ranked #11 and received the dance cube[6].
In November 2023, he was a backdancer for &TEAM during MAMA 2023[7].
2024[]
In January, he quit TORA PROJECT and joined the BMSG Trainees[3].
On July 31, he was revealed to be a BMSG trainee.
Personal Life[]
He is half Japanese[4], although the nationality of his other parent is unknown.
He has two older brothers[8].
He was in the basketball club throughout elementary and middle school, but quit when he started high school[8]. He was also in the ouendan club during elementary school[9].
TAICHI's given name, "泰智", means "peaceful (泰) and "wisdom" (智).
