ShowMinorSavage is a BMSG unit formed in 2021 consisting of BE:FIRST members SOTA and MANATO and soloist Aile The Shota. It was originally created for THE FIRST's Creativity NEO screening, but the members decided to continue with it as a side project once the show ended.

2021[]
The unit was originally put together for the THE FIRST's Creativity NEO screening. SKY-HI tasked the 10 finalists to create their own units and come up with their own music and choreography. At the time, MANATO stated that, considering the type of music he wanted to make and their music taste, he would like to team up with SOTA and SHOTA, and all contestants agreed.

we are all influenced by the unique American groove, something that is not in the in the major Japanese market. The aspects of R&B and hip-hop that we like will be incorporated in the song without any compromise
The group wrote No Cap Navy almost completely from scratch based on a track created by SHOTA following a small sample from SKY-HI's Nanairo Holiday.
2022[]
On January 30 and 31, they performed at THE FIRST FINAL, like all other Creativity NEO units.
On September 17 and 18, they performed at BMSG FES '22, where after singing "No Cap Navy" they performed a new song, Thinkin' bout you, confirming the unit was still active.
2023[]
On February 21, the BMSG Twitter account suddenly tweeted their logo and Instagram account link, announcing they would be on J-WAVE radio program Step One. It was later revealed they were premiering their new song SUPER ICY and the unit's first EP ShowMinorSavage (EP) would be releasing February 22.
On March 4, they performed at TOKYO GIRLS COLLECTION 2023 SPRING/SUMMER alongide SKY-HI and BE:FIRST.
On March 5, 11, and 12 they performed at the D.U.N.K Showcase.
On May 14, they performed at the LOVE SUPREME JAZZ FESTIVAL JAPAN 2023 as a part of the BMSG POSSE.
2024[]
On March 28, they performed at PANDORA
On July 10, they released their digital single Ocean.
On August 22, they were the guest in Apartment B and performend Ocean -Ovall remix-.
On September 5, they were again the guest in apartment B and performed Thinkin'bout you -Ovall remix-.
On September 25, they released Ocean - Ovall remix- in streaming platforms
On October 23, they released Thinkin' bout you - Ovall remix- in streaming platforms .
Name Origin[]
Logo
Taking "S.M.S" from their initials (Shota, Manato, Sota) they came up with "Show Minor", which means they're going to show music that is still minor in Japan. "Savage" could also mean "the enemy", but, connected with "Minor", they're using it as a slang that means "cool". [2]
