LIVE FOR THE NEXT 2022 is a concert event organized by the Japan FM League (JFL) for their annual FOR THE NEXT campaign. The 2022 show featured BMSG artists SKY-HI, Novel Core, BE:FIRST, Aile The Shota, and surprise guest edhiii boi.
Background[]
FOR THE NEXT is a joint project started in 2013 by the five JFL stations: Sapporo FM Northwave, Tokyo J-WAVE, Nagoya ZIP-FM, Osaka FM802, and Fukuoka CROSS FM. For the project they select a breakthrough "NEXT GENERATION ARTIST and the campaign is meant to support the musicians and listeners of the next generation.[1]
On January 17, 2022 BE:FIRST were announced as the tie-up artists for the 2022 campaign and would be providing the theme song Brave Generation, written by Novel Core. The group was also announced as one of featured artists for the LIVE FOR THE NEXT concert along with fellow BMSG artists SKY-HI, Novel Core and Aile The Shota.[1] edhiii boi also made an appearance as surprise guest.
The event took place March 4, 2022 in Tokyo at LINE CUBE SHIBUYA.
At the end of the BE:FIRST's performance of Brave Generation, Novel Core, edhiii boi, SKY-HI, and Aile The Shota joined the stage one by one for a surprise performance of the brand new collaboration "Brave Generation -BMSG United Remix-".[2]
As a final surprise, at the end of the show SKY-HI announced BMSG FES '22 would be held on September 17 and 18 for BMSG's 2nd anniversary.
