Uchino Sota (内野創太 born January 18, 2007), known professionally as edhiii boi (stylized in all lowercase letters), is a Japanese rapper and songwriter signed to Japanese management company BMSG. He made his solo debut in January 2022 with the single NO under BMSG (Label), and now releases under Bullmoose Records.
Prior to joining BMSG, edhiii boi took part in BMSG's boy group audition THE FIRST, where he was one of the top 30 candidates before being eliminated. However, he later reconnected with SKY-HI, who immediately signed him after hearing his demo for Forever Friend.

edhiii boi was inspired to become an artist after watching a video of k-pop group BIGBANG on YouTube in his first year of elementary school. In 2014, he started taking dance lessons at dance studio lab3 in Kobe [1] and practiced rapping by imitating BIGBANG's style.[2]
He started taking rapping more seriously and writing his own lyrics in 2016 after his dance teacher introduced him to a local Kobe rapper, MC SNEEEZE, who had a studio of his own and invited him to hang out and to record his own songs [3].
On November 17, 2018, he won the KIRACHARE 2018 BOYS Debut Award.[4]
In 2019, he enrolled in gpSTUDIO, where he took hip hop and kpop dance lessons alongside KAIRI[5][6]. From 2020 to 2021, he was a part of training unit heretic.
2021[]
In 2021, edhiii boi auditioned for SKY-HI's THE FIRST and passed the 2nd / Quality screening round in Kobe (conducted remotely) with "F-3" by SKY-HI (rap performance) and "Neo Gal Wop" by JP the WAVY (dance performance). He was ranked 15th after this round. [7]
In THE FIRST Artisism screening, Sota performed "Snatchaway" by SKY-HI, and was placed in Team C (with Ozawa Naoki, Okubo Towa, Obayashi Kairyu and Hirose Manato). Unfortunately, Sota was eliminated from THE FIRST after this round.
However, he was contacted by SKY-HI after being eliminated and edhiii boi sent him his original music. Upon listening to it, SKY-HI decided to give him another chance and offered him an artist contract when they met in person at the SKY-HI Round A Ground 2020 concert in Osaka on August 24.
On September 23, the tracklist for SKY-HI's album Hachimenroppi was revealed. It included 14th Syndrome, a song that featured edhiii boi along with the other two 14 year olds from THE FIRST, RUI and TAIKI. This was the first time edhiii boi was acknowledged as part of BMSG, but his identity as Uchino Sota was not confirmed until the release of the music video on November 10.
2022[]
On January 12, his first digital single NO was released.
On January 18, he released 118 with Novel Core and SOTA
On January 21, he was announced as a guest for THE FIRST FINAL concert, taking place on January 29 and 30.
On February 14, his second digital single, Otogibanashi, was released.
On March 4, he performed at JFL presents LIVE FOR THE NEXT 2022 as a surprise guest.
On March 14, he released Brave Generation -BMSG United Remix- with the rest of the BMSG POSSE.
On March 23, his third digital single Forever Friend was released.
On April 8, he performed at BMSG Artist Showcase 2022.
On April 20, his fourth digital single NO -remix- feat. TAIKI was released.
On April 27, he performed at Amazon Music BREAKTHROUGH JAPAN Live.
On June 2, it was announced that he would be collaborating with baseball team Chiba Lotte Marines, singing a cheering song called "GRAB THE WIN" for their mascot BUBBLE BOY. He sang the song before the start of the game against the Yokohama DeNA at the ZOZO Marine Stadium on June 12.
On July 2, he released a split EP titled 15th Dream with RUI and TAIKI.
From July to September, he was one of the opening acts for SKY-HI's hall tour SKY-HI HALL TOUR 2022 -Cho Hachimenroppi-.
On August 21, he performed at FREEDOM Aozora 2022 Awajishima as an opening act with RUI and TAIKI.
On September 17 and 18 he performed at BMSG FES '22.
On September 18 he released New Chapter as a part of BMSG ALLSTARS.
On September 23, he performed at ODD BRICK FESTIVAL 2022 as part of the BMSG POSSE.
On September 24, he performed at TOKYO ISLAND 2022 as part of the BMSG POSSE.
2023[]
On January 1, he opened his own SoundCloud page and uploaded his first song, StAR.
On January 12, his first debut anniversary, he announced his first album edhiii boi is here releasing March 22.
On March 1, he released the digital single Flower, a new track from his upcoming album.
On March 21, 23, and 25 had a series of mini lives and CD signings at Tower Records to commemorate his album's release.
On April 7, he was a special guest performer at 00motion Collective Vol.03.
On April 21, he launched his collaboration project with music streaming service AWA and apparel shop WEGO.
On June 17, he performed as the opening act for the SKY-HI ARENA TOUR 2023 -BOSSDOM-.
On July 30, he performed at AMAFES. Jack in the BOX "ARTIST EDITION" 2023.
On July 31 and August 1, he performed at the BMSG TRAINEE Showcase 2023.
On September 18, he released The Moon in the WEST as part of BMSG WEST.
During the last two weekends in September, he performed at BMSG FES '23.
On October 15, he performed at Freedom BAY 2023 Chiba.
On November 1, he released his sixth digital single otomodachi.
On November 15, he released his second album Manshin Soui.
On November 18 and 24, he held edhiii boi 1st ONEMAN LIVE "Manshin Soui" in Tokyo and Osaka.
2024[]
On January 22, he made his very first live TV appearance with a spot on TBS' prime time music program CDTV LIVE! LIVE! where he performed Otomodachi.
On January 26, he held his final show for edhiii boi 1st ONEMAN LIVE "Manshin Soui".
On March 2, he performed at Fantastic Date fm RAD DAY 3.5.
On March 9, performed at DayDay. SUPER LIVE 2024 as the Opening Act.
On March 28, he performed at Chojudai -ULTRA TEENS FES- 2024 and PANDORA.
From April-May his song Superhero will be featured on NHK's long-running mini-program Minna no Uta.
On April 9, he opened his official website and launched his new project GOODBYE HIGH SCHOOL DAYS in which he will work on various self-produced artist activities until he graduates from high school in March 2025.
On April 10, he released a physical, deluxe version of his album Mashin Soui, which includes new and previously unreleased songs, as well Manshin Soui EX, a digital EP of only the new songs.
On May 3, BMSG POSSE appeared as a surprise guest during SKY-HI's VIVA LA ROCK 2024 set.
On May 5, he performed at the LuckyFes Half Time Show during the Ibaraki Robots' game against the Utsunomiya Brex.
On May 26, he performed at KOBE MELLOW CRUISE 2024 as part of the BMSG POSSE.
On May 29, he released Girlfriend as part of BMSG POSSE.
On June 26, he and BMSG POSSE released their second single MINNA BLING BLING.
On June 28, he performed at BEAT AX Vol.4 as part of BMSG POSSE.
On July 10, dance troupe s**t kingz released their single MORECHAU featuring edhiii boi, Janet Mayuka of rap duo [1] PERO PERO CANDY, and JIMMY of boy group PSYCHIC FEVER.

edhiii boi chose his stage name with the help of SKY-HI.

edhiii boi is an only child. His mother, Yukiko, works as an architect [8].
When he auditioned for THE FIRST, Edhiii boi was a second year middle school student.
In March 2022, he graduated from middle school in his hometown of Kobe.
